Hypertensiology
Hypertensiology is a special field that deals with high blood pressure. It has multiplex connections to the cardiology and angiology, also to nephrology, diabetology, and endocrinology. In practice it is one of the connectors between these disciplines of medicine.

To ensure the qualified treatment of patients with hypertension the German “Deutsche Hochdruckliga” (registered association) decided to establish the medical qualification of the hypertensiologist. The purpose is the development, realization and promotion of measures to prevent high blood pressure in the population of the Federal Republic of Germany. Especially by promoting further education of physicians in the field of diagnosis and treatment of high blood pressure.
